About ME

Hi, I’m Astrid 

I’m a Costume Designer and Stylist based in central London, with a second home in Berlin. Originally from Germany, where I ran my own fashion business, I have lived and worked in the UK for 32 years.

With nearly three decades of industry experience, I have worked across costume departments on film, TV and a broad range of media productions, with credits for award-winning broadcasters and independent production companies alike. I work both in the UK and internationally, and enjoy the variety and creative energy of working on location. And I love the transformational nature of costume — exploring how clothing, character and setting come together, and how costume can influence an actor’s performance and bring a story to life.

Inspired by all aspects of visual storytelling, I extended my creative skill set through studying photography. My two careers complement each other perfectly: photography has strengthened my eye for composition, light, colour and character, while my experience in costume brings a strong understanding of storytelling and visual detail to my photographic work.
